The way mankind has gotten energy has evolved in many ways. In 1776, most energy was conducted through brute strength of cattle. By the 1900's fuel wood which was used for heat was running out. To replace the depleting supply coal was brought in, the furnaces that burnt them provided heat and light from the flame.
